Mr. Bettencourt is the author of America Choice America's Shame "The Reality Of America's War on Drugs" and is the Founder and Chairperson for Not In Our Town Glenn County a Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition. During the last three years Jim has successfully chaired the Glenn County Drug Store, a collaboration which has provided drug prevention education to over 1,500 8th grade students in Glenn County. For over seven years Jim has volunteered his work with education, law enforcement, health and human services, community and political leaders to provide substance abuse prevention through television, radio, newspaper interviews-articles,"Choices" and now America's Choice America's Shame. In 2007 Mr. Bettencourt was honored to be a guest speaker for the State of California Alcohol & Drug Program"s National Methamphetamine Awareness Day, the Northern California Teachers Association School Board Recognition Dinner and at the Butte County Office of Education Every 15 minutes program.
